Lunchtime Panel ES in Disaster Response

Have lunch with your fellow scientists at the M on Tuesday and join the experts for a conversation on exposure science and disaster response. The following will be discussed:

How can we train the public on best responses in a disaster?

How can ISES and its members get the 5R's for exposure science linked to future Emergency response and preparedness actions & resilience?

Can/should ISES approach Congress and international entities to get more visibility on preparedness issues?

University involvement in immediate response worked in 9/11: can it today?

Engage with cutting edge researchers and sensor developers at this exciting new ISES event! The first-ever Sensor Fair includes a variety of sensors capable of measuring agents in a variety of matrices including air, water, and biological samples. Meet the developers and get a hands-on experience with these new up-and-coming technologies.

Join Us for Dinner Under the Stars

October 19th from 6:00-9:00pm
The Monday evening dinner, in response to your requests for an accessible event without the necessity of bus rides, will be held on an outdoor terrace at The M (weather permitting). This is your opportunity to enjoy the comradery of your colleagues, relax in the beautiful setting provided by our host hotel, and breath fresh air while enjoying breathtaking views.

In keeping with the relaxed setting and informal environment, and in order to offer you every opportunity to mingle with other participants this year’s dinner menu will be a Tapas-themed buffet.  

The fee for the dinner will be $75 for regular attendees and $55 for students. Ticket sales are available as part of Registration.

Back by Popular Demand! ISES Women's Networking Event
Hostile Grape Wine Tasting Room

Join your fellow women exposure scientists to discuss the unique career, workplace, and work-life balance challenges women face in a fun, contemporary environment! We will have open conversation and a “speed-networking” portion.

The event will be held in The Hostile Grape at the M (our host hotel). At this wine bar, you can swipe pre-paid cards to dispense wine pours of one, three or five ounces! This space offers the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a glass of wine or your favorite beverage and some light fare while making connections!

What: ISES Women's Networking Event
Who: Women at all career stages, from students on up
When: Tuesday, October 20th from 6:00-7:30 pm (after the General Meeting and before the Committee Fair)
Where: The Hostile Grape
Registration: $15 for students; $20 for non-students*
*Registration fee includes hors d'oeuvres and a glass of wine. Pre-registration is highly encouraged (so we can plan accordingly for food), but not required.
